for Me:

• trust him!
• do good
• live where I am—enjoy it and enjoy being taken care of!
• be delighted with him
• commit my way to him
• be still—wait patiently for him
• don’t fret!
• don’t get angry or mad

and He:

• gives me the desires of my heart
• draws attention to anything good I’m doing
• has an inheritance for me!

His part is so much bigger, but my part seems so much harder.  (from)

Why do some things stay in your memory, totally unremembered, for years, and then pop out! suddenly sending you whirling back decades to exactly how you felt when you experienced the thing originally?  The book was long gone and forgotten.  Then a copy appears unexpectedly in an unlikely place.  And instantly you’re at Pop and Goldia’s for the weekend and you can sense the peace of their home and hear Lawrence Welk on the TV and the mourning doves cooing outside and feel the beige sculptured carpet under your elbows as you turn the pages and ask Goldia, what does that say?…

…uhhh, wait a minute…can’t we just stop with the promise?…

…like the horse or the mule, which have no understanding but must be controlled by bit and bridle or they will not come to you

…so if I’m like that, I can’t be instructed?  I won’t go the way you teach?  I won’t be counseled?…

Many are the woes of the wicked…

…now hold on; are you saying if I don’t come to you willingly I’m acting wicked?…

…but the Lord’s unfailing love surrounds the man who trusts in Him.

…and if I don’t trust in you, when I go through pain, sorrow and suffering I’ll be saying, “Where is your unfailing love?”…while all along it’s my fault I don’t experience it?…
